Pastor Erik Brian Eure (the last name is pronounced 'your') serves as the pastor and founder of The Promise Land Church located in Syracuse, New York. He has been serving as senior pastor since February 2002, Pastor Eure is a native of Baltimore, Maryland, and a lifelong member of the Baptist church. As a teenager and young adult, he attended several of the denominations' development academies in preparation for leadership in the church.
As an adult, he has served as a Sunday School Teacher, Sunday School Superintendent, Men’s Bible Study Teacher, Trustee, Ordained Deacon, Minister of New Members Training, Minister of Evangelism, and Chief Executive Minister to the Senior Pastor. He was called to the gospel at the age of 22. He preached his initial sermon in September of 1993 at the Second Olivet Missionary Baptist Church in Syracuse, NY. He was fully licensed and ordained by the Northeastern Missionary Baptist Association in January of 2002.
Pastor Eure is a 10 year veteran of the United States Marine Corps, where he served in the Operations Desert Shield and Storm. After leaving the Marines, he used the G.I. bill to attend college in Washington and Onondaga Community College. He began a successful career in Human Resource Management where he worked for two Fortune 50 companies until the Lord called him into ministry full-time where he has remained extremely faithful to His call and position. He is currently working to cowards his degree in counseling.
Under the pastoral covering of Pastor John K. Jenkins, First Baptist Church of Glenarden, he has led the church into growth and several milestones during his years as pastor. The church membership has grown from 4 families to over 200 families. Under his leadership, the church has developed over 40 ministries that impact the church and community. In 2010, The Promise Land is a debt-free ministry that includes a church, parsonage, park area, and parking lot on multiple acres of land and a church mini-bus.
Pastor Eure’s ministry extends beyond the walls of the church. He serves as a Advisory Board member for Crouse Health and is a member of the Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance (Syracuse & Vicinity). He has also served as a Chaplain for the Syracuse City Police Department, past Chair of the National Black Leadership Commission on AID & HIV Syracuse Affiliate, past President of Divine Opportunities for Visionary Entrepreneurship, and former Vice President of Public Relations for Syracuse Coalition of Urban Pastors. He has served on the political campaigns for both Bea Gonzalez for Mayor and Khalid Bey for Common Council /and Mayor. Lastly, Pastor Eure has enjoyed being a referee for the Central New York Pop Warner Football Officials for over 10 years.
Pastor Eure has been married for 29 years and counting to "the girl he's always dreamed about," his best friend, wife, and "baby-momma-with-no-drama," Pastor Doctor Twiggy Meshele, and they have five dynamic young adult children who call him "Pop" "Dad" Daddy" "Poppy" and two young grandchildren.

Pastor Dr. Twiggy M. Eure (yes, Twiggy is her real name) will openly share how God's love embraced her and restored her life after graduating from high school and giving birth to her son. Equipped with her own testimony and after over 10 years of faithful service to the Second Olivet Missionary Baptist Church (Syracuse, NY), she co-founded The Promise Land alongside her husband, Pastor Erik Brian Eure in February 2002.
Pastor Twiggy's love and dedication to God, her husband, family, ministry, and career are evident. After 10 years of service, she was licensed and ordained as a pastor on Friday, September 14, 2012. She currently serves as Chief Ministry Officer.
She is the Founder of the "On the Move" Conference and received a proclamation from the Syracuse Mayor and County Executive that deemed the 2nd weekend of September as the "On the Move" Conference weekend in the City of Syracuse. Additionally, Pastor Twiggy is a certified Life Coach and has contracted with organizations that have allowed her to empower and coach thousands. Her unique delivery style and ability to meet people where they are, treating them with dignity and respect while sharing hope with them, allows her to passionately speak, teach, train, and inspire people from all walks of life.
Pastor Twiggy is the Director of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging at Crouse Health in Syracuse, NY. Reporting directly to the CEO/President, she provides strategic guidance to leadership and management staff within all areas of responsibility in an effort to raise awareness and promote a culture of inclusion across the Crouse system.
Pastor Twiggy believes in preparation and is a life-long learner. She received her associate's degree (Bryant & Stratton College), bachelor's degree (SUNY Oswego), and master's degree (Syracuse University), and doctoral degree from St. John Fisher College (Rochester, NY) in Executive Leadership. She is the first to achieve this in her family!
She is actively involved in the community, serving on boards and committees. She is a member of the Syracuse Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., a graduate of Leadership Greater Syracuse, a past 40 Under 40 Award Recipient, was highlighted in February 2017 & 2019 editions of Syracuse Woman Magazine, and has received numerous awards.
Pastor Twiggy attributes her greatest accomplishment as the wife of 32 years to her favorite Marine Veteran and best friend, Pastor Erik B. Eure, and the mother of five remarkable young adults, their one and only son and Navy Veteran, Marquis & his wife Nicole who blessed them with their two grandchildren, Londyn and Greyson, and three beautiful daughters: Gabrielle, Sydni, and Camryn.
